Mitra was Lara Croft's live-action actress, and Mitra was cast in the role as Lara Croft as Mitra. Angelina Jolie was cast in the role for the Tomb Raider movies (2001-2003). Mitra was the No. 46 on the Maxim Hot 100 Women of 2001. She played Christopher Lambert's love interest in Beowulf. She was then able to reprise her role in the spin-off Boston Legal, but she was not able to play the same role for the second season. In 2005, Mitra played the role of Kit McGraw during season 3 of Nip/Tuck. After that, Mitra appeared in Skinwalkers, The Number 23 & Shooter. In 2008, Mitra played the role of Major Eden Sinclair in the science-fiction/action film Doomsday. She was sometimes wrongly identified in various databases as Caryn Peterson. In 2009, Mitra stars in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Sonja is the daughter of powerful vampire elder Viktor (played in part by Bill Nighy). Mitra was awed by her vampire fangs throughout filming. She even refused to remove them when it was impossible to view. "I put those fangs in the very first day. I thought it was strange that they were there. Therefore, I kept them in throughout the whole time of shooting, throughout all my dialogue and everything." She also appeared in three episodes of Stargate Universe.
